Shared Support services
A funding company saw its 15-strong credit control team reduce following hybrid working concerns and a need for more qualified candidates to fill vacant positions. Uppermost for them was a short-to-mid-term receivables management solution that would boost resources and protect cash flow, and they reached out to us as their debt collection partner.
As a result, we received 1,000 accounts from their ledger, agreed on KPIs, started the project free from administration tasks, focussing all efforts on connecting with their customers, big and small, in their name. In addition, the client measures accounts outsourced to us against those retained in-house, with our results winning over theirs.
In September last year, a university collections client wanted support to handle the credit control function of its company/sponsor ledger in the short term due to staff shortages. These staff shortages meant there had been limited internal collection efforts over several months, apparent from the number of accounts in ageing buckets.
Based on the high number of overdue accounts and unallocated cash, we proposed a short-term clean-up exercise, connecting on behalf of the client and using a dedicated member of our confidential credit control team to bring the ledger back into good order.
We agreed on a script and collection process and assigned dedicated telephone numbers and email addresses. We expected a high level of queries and invoice requests, managing all of these through our web-based reporting tool, Your Debts Online. The campaign commenced in late October, and by year-end, we connected with most of their customers, collecting over £1.4M. The outstanding balance is either in ‘promised payment’ or a query awaiting client feedback.
Acquisitive international water solutions supplier with a multi-transactional customer base hit cash flow problems as its credit control team stretched by expediential revenue growth. Knowing us as their debt collection partner, they approached us to provide a temporary solution for their receivables.
They transferred £5M of their ledger to us, and, aided by our dispute resolution software, we quickly reported queries for client feedback and pursued uncontested accounts in their name with vigour. The client reports:
“We use STA International as a temporary solution to fill resource gaps resulting from exponential business growth. The quality, professionalism and commitment of the STA team have been first-class. All facets of the receivables process have been managed seamlessly, with fantastic results. I would thoroughly recommend and not hesitate to use STA for your business collections process.”
A small specialist clothing company supplying seasonal goods could not justify a full-time credit controller and sought shared support on a needs-must basis. Due to the peaks and troughs of customer contact, we work on a fixed-fee basis in their name.
The benefit to this client is the ability to focus on core activities, cost control and increased cash flow.
Other companies using us for outsourced credit control are from sectors including marketing, construction, E-commerce and training. They range in size from SME to multinational, and they use us permanently and temporarily for their buyers, large and small.
