Colin Thomas FICM FCIM
Managing Director
Colin is Managing Director and joined STA in 2001 from Graydon UK. He has many years of general management experience in credit management including 10 years at D&B prior to 13 years at Graydon. Colin is a well known writer and speaker on all matters credit management related, and also represents STA on a range of international trade associations. Colin is a fellow of the Institute of Credit Management (FICM) and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM). |

Matt Quinn
Finance Director
Matt joined STA in 2001 as a Management Accountant and then became Financial Controller with UK and US responsibilities, before becoming Finance Director in 2007. His career in accounting and finance started nearly 20 years ago gaining experience in banking, corporate and practice interrupted by 4 years of service with Her Majesty’s armed forces as a Surveyor. |

Jan Baker FICM
Operations Director
Before joining STA in 2002, Jan had 20 years of credit and collections management in industry sectors including publishing, toy distribution & telecoms/media where she ran an 120 agent call-centre. Today, as Operations Director, she has strategic responsibility for productivity, performance and compliance of our dedicated commercial, consumer and student collection teams. In addition, Jan controls our quality accreditation, ISO 9001, tender and contract compliance, and client KPI performance. Jan is a fellow of the Institute of Credit Management (FICM). |

Glynn Rees
IT Director
Glynn joined STA in 2002 having been in communications and technology since leaving school, initially as a Radio, Radar and Electronics Officer in the Merchant Navy. Then he moved on to be Communications Manager for a City based financial printer, before becoming a technician, and later an IT Duty Manager for a national newspaper. As our IT Director, Glynn brings a depth of IT knowledge and experience, supporting and progressing STAs systems in pursuit of debt collection efficiency, and transparent client reporting. |

Craig Arneil
Consumer Collections Manager
Craig joined STA in 2009 having worked for Vanquis Bank, HFC Bank and Welcome Finance. His handling of fixed-term loan portfolios provided Craig with all the skills he needed to deal sensitively and authoritatively with consumer debtors. He joined us as a collection agent and quickly proved himself to be the top performer in the team. Today, Craig is our Consumer Collections Manager with responsibility for our team of shift-working agents including their performance and compliance. |

Steph Gibbs
Client Services Manager
Steph joined STA in 2005 on a management trainee programme culminating in her current role of Client Services Manager. With first-hand knowledge of working in our finance, operations and sales departments, Steph has an excellent grasp of all the factors that can impact the client-experience. Once debt is placed with us, Steph manages the resultant client contact ensuring that our collectors have fast, accurate and full access to the client information they need. This vital role enables our collectors to expedite recovery, and match client expectations. |

Neill MacKinnon BA Hons (Econ)
Sales Director
Neill had over 20 years of credit management sales experience with D&B and ICC prior to joining STA in 2002. Today, he manages the B2B and student debt collection sales team in addition to his own portfolio of key accounts from these sectors. Neill has overseen STAs rise to market-leader in the Higher & Further Education sector.

Ken Apter
Business Development Director
Ken spent 23 years at Barclays Bank, latterly as Head of Third Party Collections Strategy & Performance. This role entailed leading a team maximising the performance of all third party debt collection agencies on the bank’s outsourced mortgage and credit card portfolios. Prior to this, Ken created an in-house collections team to challenge existing collection processes where he grew the team from 4 to 35. Ken’s extensive knowledge of compliance issues and day-to-day experience with DCAs led to a career change in 2009 focusing on sales consultancy in consumer collections. After several such roles, Ken joined us in 2011 as Business Development Director heading-up our sales drive in the traditional B2C collections market. |

Miles Wybourn
Sales & Customer Relations Manager
Miles joined STA in 1999 as a sales representative prior to which he had been involved in a CRM role at the Royal Mail, following several years with a property company. Miles manages the sales and sales administration departments, sourcing new business opportunities and maintaining regular client contact via the Customer Relationship Management programme. |

Karl Hague
Business Development Manager
Prior to joining STA in 2009, Karl spent 4 years at credit insurance underwriter Euler Hermes in Manchester. Progressing from telesales to accounts management, his roles began in mainstream credit insurance before he moved into their debt collection division. Today, operating from the Manchester sales office, Karl looks after STAs ‘introducer’ business from credit insurance underwriters and other associations including the Federation of Small Businesses. |
